Day 1: Yangon Arrival
Mingalabar! Welcome to the Golden Land of Myanmar. Today, on arrival at Yangon International Airport, welcome by Go Myanmar’s local guide and then we directly transfer to the hotel for check in. The rest time of the day is yours.
Day 2: Yangon City Tour
Start your amazing morning of day 2 with a visit to the breathtaking Kandawgyi Lake, the most beautiful photo stop in Yangon. Save your best photo with the Karaweik Hall floating on the lake which is a prominent landmark of the city.
After that proceed to Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda to admire one of the largest reclining Buddha images in Myanmar graced the pagoda for a century. Returning to the city center, your private car will give you a window to the exotic charm of the colonial architecture features on the city’s beauty. Its allure is believed can be found nowhere else in Asia.
In the afternoon, highlight your sightseeing tour with a visit to Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the most fascinating Buddhist pagodas in the world. Let stroll around the pagoda to observe the great architecture of the Burmese and see local pilgrims paying homage to the Buddha.
Day 3: Yangon – Fly to Bagan
Leave Yangon this morning to take a domestic flight to Bagan – the land of magnificent temples. On arrival, meet your local guide in Bagan and we directly transfer to the jetty to embark on RV Kanee Pandaw cruise ship. Enjoy a cozy welcome lunch and have a short break after that.
Following your afternoon sightseeing with a sightseeing tour to explore the most famous temples in Bagan. Visit Shwezigon Pagoda, one of the oldest and most impressive Buddhist monuments in Bagan. Continue to Htilominlo Temple, an elegant temple noted for its strong construction helping the temple survive after many strong earthquakes. After that, highlight your afternoon visit to a local lacquerware workshop to get the first-hand experience at the production of the finest lacquerware in Bagan. A brief introduction to the process of making lacquerware items will give you an overview of this beautiful product.
In the late afternoon, return to the ship and enjoy the gorgeous sunset on the river.
Day 4: Yandaboo
This morning, the ship leads you through the confluence of the Chindwin River before stopping at Yandabo village, a charming riverside village well-known for the production of the terracotta pottery from the riverbank clay. Get off for a short excursion to the village to get a real look into the life of the rural area. Stroll around the village and visit some families to get the first-hand experience in making a pot using traditional methods. An amazing chance for you today: try your hands on making a pot on your own.
Day 5: Amarapura
Wake up in the call of nature this morning. Then enjoy your breakfast while the ship sailing to Ava. On arrival, leave the ship and explore the ruins of the ancient city. Experience the local horse carriage to slowly explore the sites. Visit Bagaya Kyaung, a 200-year-old royal monastery made of teak with elaborate woodcarvings. Then visit the ancient capital of Amarapura and admire the paintings in a temple.
Day 6: Kyauk-Myoung
Today gives you a chance to visit the impressive pottery village near Kyauk-Myoung where you have a chance to witness the famous 50-gallon water pots. Spend your time to see all stages of manufacture from throwing the pots to firing in huge kilns.
After that, we return to the ship and continue to sail to the third defile of Irrawaddy.
Day 7: Khanyat
This morning, visit Khan-Nyat Village which is noted for many Buddhist monasteries. Your local guide will lead you to visit some and then transfer to the former head teacher’s house, which includes small museum collections. Fulfill your trip with a trip to the Pagoda Hill at Tigyang. Enjoy a stunning view of the river at sunset.
Day 8: Katha
Today, the ship takes you to the beguiling colonial town of Katha, which sets for George Orwell’s Burmese Days. So far, little thing has changed. The fire station’s collections of the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company’s ship’s bells taken from sunken ships in the Second War is an interesting place for you to visit as you reach the site. Your local guide then also takes you to an elephant logging camp in the hardwood forests of the hills surrounding the town and further upstream.
Day 9: Sail Upstram Kyunt Daw Island
Leave the ship and transfer by a local boat to Kyun Daw village where we will visit countless small pagodas.
Day 10: Tagaung
This morning, continue to cruise through the 2nd Defile, the most impressive of the three gorges with cliffs towering over the narrow channel.
Day 11: Mingun
Let wake up early this morning to enjoy the fresh morning air on the river. Today gives you a chance to explore Mingun – an enchanting village where is home to the second-largest ringing bell in the world – Mingun Bell. Here you also have a chance to witness Mingun Pahtodawgyi, the ruin of the largest unfinished temple in the world. After that, visit Mingun Old People’s Home which was established with the assistance of the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company in the 1930s. Later on, drive up to the beautiful Sagaing hills where you can enjoy a commanding view of the landscape.
Day 12: Mandalay City Tour
This morning, say goodbye to the crew and check out at RV Kanee Pandaw to get back to the land. Today is a full day let you discover the royal capital of Myanmar. Start the day with a visit to Mahamuni Pagoda, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the country.
Next up, follow your guide to Shwenandaw Monastery, an impressive teak wood monastery featuring the finest Burmese architecture in the 19th century.
In the afternoon, head to Kuthodaw Pagoda, the world’s largest Buddhist book carved on 729 marble slabs
Day 13: Mandalay – Heho – Pindaya – Inle Lake
Leave Mandalay this morning and board a flight to Heho Airport. On arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to Pindaya, a charming town where you will capture the attractive limestone caves, picturesque lakes, fields, and tea plantations. Your guide will lead you to Pindaya Cave to witness the 9000 Buddha images inside the cave. Later on, get a glimpse at the 250-year-old Banyan tree before transferring to the hotel in Inle Lake.
Day 14: Inle Lake – Indein – Fly to Yangon
Rise before dawn this morning to behold the beauty and feel the breathtaking ambiance of Inle Lake in the early morning. After that, passing through the endless floating gardens and houses to Indein Village to visit the exotic Shwe Indein Temple complex with more than 1000 ancient shrines.
On the way back, visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the most sacred pagoda in southern Inle Lake.
After that, check out at your hotel and transfer to the airport to fly back to Yangon.
Day 15: Yangon – Departure
After breakfast this morning, enjoy your own leisure time at the airport until the driver picks you up to transfer to the airport for departure flight. Trip ends
